Kitchen By Mike

About a month ago, we took ourselves out on our usual Saturday journey around this great City, and decided to pop on through to Kitchen By Mike to see what all the hype had been about in recent weeks.  Rosebery is quite the eclectic suburb, just waiting for it's moment to throw off its rags and truly shine.  Kitchen By Mike is a little gem hidden amongst the industrial garments, and stepping into this faceless building feels like you are walking into a world that only Alice in Wonderland could discover. 
The queues are ridiculous, but if you can persevere you will be pleasantly surprised to treats that will take you back to the days of being in school and waiting for food that teases you and warms the spirit. 
The coffee here is delightful, by the way, and the barista on the day had the most uplifting of spirits...Thank you for making us laugh!

Tinsy update

It's been an intense couple of weeks, but one of magnitude in happiness.  The steps we tread are still fresh.  Bobby started his new job today and we couldn't feel more blessed about the opportunities that have have graced our journey.

We met up with a friend at The Grounds in Alexandria.  The company was equally as delightful as location.

Dessert and tea at Orto in Surry Hills.  Hanging glass decor is captivating.  We will definitely be back to try the dinner here.

Brasserie Bread

Hello Brasserie Bread, we truly love you.  We woke up this morning thinking to ourselves that sourdough pancakes with stewed berries and honeycomb cream would really hit the spot, and so jumped out of bed, got dressed and braced ourselves for the Saturday traffic and almost hour long drive to Banksmeadow...all to just taste the delights of this wonderful artisan bakery.  Located within quite an industrial area within the city of Sydney, this bakery is a standout, not only in it's class of dedication to artisan baking, but also as a cafe with treats you certainly want to shout out about.
I personally adore the industrial element they have brought within their premises, and the raw ingredients they sell in canvas sacks amongst the stellar bread and pastries.
When we arrived and started to look through their chalkboard menu, a sweet waitress ran up to Bobby and advised that they had run out of sourdough pancakes.  My heart sank.  Whilst I slumped into a seat and tried to not show my disappointment too much, Bobby chatted with the waitress, slipping in that we drove an hour to get there, with the sole purpose of satisfying our sourdough pancake cravings.  Sweet girl went back into the kitchen and checked for us, and managed to scrape together the final remnants of dough left, and conjured up the final plate of sourdough pancakes, just for me.  Utterly delightful!  Customer service at its best, and outstanding food.  Who could ask for more?!
