The Missing

The weather here has been so cold as of late, and we find ourselves struggling to drag our bodies out of bed every morning.  There are times where I am on the train into work, wrapped up on woollen scarves and coats, and I am pretty certain that my brain is still snug as a bug wrapped up in our duvet.
I for one am truly missing family during these colder months.  Family in Perth is so greatly missed and yet on the other hand I am deeply missing my new family in California too.  The heart can be so torn, and in those silent moments of solitude, I hear their voices even louder than before.
Bobby feels the absence of family on a daily basis, but on the weekends the beating of wanting to be closer is all the louder.  We make choices and we stand by them, but it doesn’t mean that every day is battle free.
Kia and Lindsay recently sent over a little package from home of LaraBars, and Bobby and I think of them daily as we walk passed the bowl of goodies in the kitchen.  Rakshi joon also sent through some absolutely gorgeous old bronze bowls and urns to decorate the house with, along with the most luscious of hand weaved red and gold scarves which echoes the sentiments of the Iranian women who sewed a piece of their souls into it.
Missing.  Always missing something.

The Coral Reef

I often think that this love that sits beneath our skin is bigger than the both of us combined, and it will slowly start to seep through our pores and pool onto the floor, until we are swimming through our emotions as they supersede and outgrow our bodies.
As the cold creeps in through the tiniest of gaps within our homes, the warmth of this little thing between the grasp of our palms abounds and takes over, day, after, day.

(I know we've been a little quiet lately, but it's as though hibernation is taking over lives.  We have so many photos to share from our little adventures, and will share them with you laced with love, soon.)

Rainy Days

The slumber of the morning was heavy, as the rain pounded the tiled balcony with a sleepy intent.  We giggled whilst wrapped in the covers at his drowsy impressions of the birds passing by as dawn crept over the horizon, and talked about how happiness was laced within our paths, yet pondered at what happiness really was in the greater journey of life.  As the rain was relentless in its purpose to shower down on the world today, we sipped on the turkish coffee whilst it's aroma permeated amongst the cards and flowers showered onto us from friends far away and close.  There's something quite enchanting about being huddled indoors whilst the world washes by on the outside.

Tinsy update

It's been an intense couple of weeks, but one of magnitude in happiness.  The steps we tread are still fresh.  Bobby started his new job today and we couldn't feel more blessed about the opportunities that have have graced our journey.

Here are a couple of photos from the journey over the last week.

We met up with a friend at The Grounds in Alexandria.  The company was equally as delightful as location.
I mean look at this, beautiful
Dessert and tea at Orto in Surry Hills.  Hanging glass decor is captivating.  We will definitely be back to try the dinner here.
Keeping warm in front of the heater.
Others find alternative ways to keep warm.
Mums delicious tachin with slow cooked turkey throughout it, absolutely divine.

Mum also made roast duck to accompany the tachin...I think I satisfied myself for a week.
